Poetry Pals was started in the Chicago area by a group of dedicated volunteers who care
about the future of our youth. Donna Yates, Founder, came to Chicago several years ago from Philadelphia where she was
on the Board of We the Poets. Donna works with a team of very creative community organizers
and poet-educators; Harriet Rosenman; John Mintier, Alpha Diallo; Susan Levine and Harriet Minkin. Adam Shames, a creativity specialist who helps organizations
build cultures of innovation and collaboration, designs and facilitates Poetry Pals programs. Adam's company is called The
